The Mexican government's attempt to stop a bloody gang war in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico (just across the Rio Grande from Laredo, Texas) appears to have failed. Earlier this month, Mexican officials reorganized the army-led effort and promised between 600 and 800 more troops to break up a bloody rivalry between the Gulf and Sinaloa Cartels. The groups are battling for the Nuevo Laredo territory - an all-important transfer point for transporting cocaine, heroin and marijuana into the United States.Tags: Immigration, Politics, border, Terrorism, Homeland Security, MEXICO.
