Australian Dr. prosecuted for terminating pregnancy

This from News-Medical.net:
President, Dr Mukesh Haikerwal, said today that the charging of a doctor in NSW with manslaughter and procuring an unlawful abortion sends a clear warning to all doctors and women that they must fully understand the law in their State and Territory in regard to the termination of pregnancies.
Interesting. I wonder if this sort of thing would start happening if abortion regulation was handed down to the State level? I can hear the left already--it's to confusing to follow laws from State to State. Abortion needs to be regulated from the Federal level. I think a little fear in the good Dr.'s hearts is a good thing for everyone--specially the unborn children.
