Colorado Providing Emergency Housing for Hurricane Katrina Refugees

It's great to see the great state of Colorado stepping up to the plate and making a difference for the lives of those displaced by Hurricane Katrina. KKTV web site is reporting that Colorado will provide emergency housing at the old Lowry Air Force Base for up to 1,000 refugees.
Governor Owens says military and civilian planes will begin arriving Sunday at Buckley Air Force Base with those displaced by the storm.

Five hundred dorm rooms that can house two people each have been set aside for evacuees on the base.
Additionally, Colorado is sending 700 National Guardsmen to aid in search and rescue efforts.
